The Story

Replacement Rubber Sleeve for the Rhino Coffee Gear™ Square Knock Chute. The replacement rubber sleeve helps protect your portafilter and reduces noise.

Length: Approx 140mm (5.51 in)

Note:  Also fits the Rattleware knock chute.

In-Bench Grounds Disposal — The Commercial Standard
A benchtop knockbox works fine for home use, but in a commercial setting where every centimetre of bench space is in competition, an in-bench knock chute is the cleaner, more permanent solution. The Rhino Coffee Gear Square Open Bottom Knock Chute drops into a cut-out in the countertop, sits flush with the surface, and routes spent coffee grounds directly down through the bench and into whatever bin sits below — keeping the floor clear and the bench uncluttered. At approximately 140mm x 150mm x 110mm, the footprint is compact enough to fit into a tight counter run, and the open-bottom design accommodates a wide range of bin sizes and depths without dictating a specific container.

304 Stainless Steel, Welded Knock Bar, Replaceable Sleeve
The chute body is heavy-duty 304-grade stainless steel — commercial grade, built for the kind of daily repetitive use that a busy café generates. The knock bar is welded to the side of the chute rather than mounted with a friction fit or bracket, which reinforces the sides of the chute structure and makes it one of the more durable in-bench options on the market. The rubber sleeve on the knock bar protects the portafilter during knocking and reduces the noise impact of each knock — and crucially, it's designed to be easily replaceable when it wears. The rubber gasket surround at the top of the chute protects the bench surface and the barista's fingers from contact with the stainless edge.

Installation Note
The Square Knock Chute requires a countertop cut-out for installation. Rhino recommends using the actual product as the template when marking and cutting into benchtops — this ensures exact measurements rather than relying on stated dimensions alone, as tolerances between the product and the spec sheet can affect fit. Replacement rubber sleeves and gaskets are available separately as spare parts. For a surface-mounted alternative that doesn't require bench cutting, the Rhino Stainless Steel Knock Box and Rhino Thumpa Bench Top Knockout Tube are both available at Coffee Addicts.
