Replacement rubber sleeve for the Thumpa knock tubes.
The Wear Part on the Thumpa Knock Bar
The rubber sleeve is the component that fits over the metal rod on the Thumpa knock tube, cushioning each portafilter knock and reducing impact noise during service. In a high-volume café environment it takes direct impact repeatedly throughout the day, and over time the rubber compresses, cracks, or loses its grip on the rod — both reducing its protective function for the portafilter and increasing the noise of each knock. The replacement sleeve restores the bar to full function without requiring a new tube. It suits both the Thumpa Bench Top Knockout Tube (300mm) and the Thumpa Large Knockout Tube (860mm) — one part covers both sizes.
Installation Note — Lubricate Before Fitting
When fitting the rubber sleeve onto the replacement rod, do not force the two together by striking or banging them — the friction fit between the rubber and the rod can cause them to bind and become difficult to separate if joined with force. If the sleeve is stiff to fit, apply a small amount of food-grade lubricant (such as olive oil) to the parts before joining. This allows them to seat correctly without risk of locking together.
Thumpa Spare Parts at Coffee Addicts
The rubber sleeve pairs with the Rhino Thumpa Replacement Rod, which is sold separately at Coffee Addicts and suits both the 300mm and 860mm Thumpa. For the complete knock tubes themselves, the Rhino Thumpa Bench Top Knockout Tube (300mm, $110) and the Rhino Thumpa Large Knockout Tube (860mm, $120) are both stocked at Coffee Addicts. For waste bag liners compatible with the Thumpa 860, the Rhino Thumpa Large Degradable Waste Bags (100-pack) are also available.
